Alex Martins Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy operates at 427 W. Commerce St. in Dallas, Texas. The school provides martial arts education focused on building technical grappling skills, self-confidence, and personal fitness. The academy was established by Professor Alex Martins, who serves as Founder/Owner and Head Instructor. Martins began training martial arts in 1997 at the age of 17 under Junior Cardoso in Manaus, Brazil, and is a 5th Degree Black Belt. In the 2017/2018 season, he was recognized by the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation as the number one ranked competitor in the world. Training options serve men, women, and youth practitioners from across the community. The academy offers structured Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes for children, regular adult sessions, and a specialized women’s program. Instruction is structured to accommodate both beginners stepping on the mats for the first time and advanced students preparing for competition.
