Artistic Jiu-Jitsu School

Artistic Jiu-Jitsu School operates at 4413 W Lawrence Ave in Chicago, Illinois. The academy provides martial arts instruction focused on building lifelong friendships, discipline, and personal confidence for students and families. The school is owned and operated by black belt couple Pedro Dias and Laura Carvalho. Dias is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Douglas Rufino and an accomplished light-feather weight competitor on the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation circuit, earning silver medals at the Pan American championships in 2020 and 2021. Carvalho serves as co-owner and co-founder after receiving her black belt in 2025, actively working to expand training opportunities for women and youth. Training options include classes for students of diverse experience levels. The school offers a Kids Program, an Adult Program, and a specialized Women's Program. Sessions run throughout the week, featuring morning and evening classes designed to teach foundational grappling techniques in a structured team environment.
