BETA Academy | Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai & MMA provides martial arts and combat conditioning at 1353 Florida Avenue NW in Washington, District of Columbia. The 10,000-square-foot training facility features three mat areas, an MMA cage, a boxing ring, and strength training equipment. Instruction is directed by founder Nakapan Phungephorn, a fourth-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professor Leo Dalla and a judo black belt under Sensei Chris Round. Phungephorn is also certified as a Senior Instructor Khun Kru under the World Thai Boxing Association and won gold as the 2016 No-Gi World Jiu-Jitsu Champion in the Master 2 division. Academy curriculum encompasses Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai kickboxing, wrestling, mixed martial arts, and youth martial arts classes. Classes accommodate all experience levels, from introductory students to active combat competitors, and prospective members can attend a complimentary trial session.
