Darcio Lira Jiu Jitsu

Darcio Lira Jiu Jitsu conducts martial arts instruction at 1745 Richmond Hwy. inside the Mind Your Body studio in Arlington, Virginia. Located near the Crystal City metro entrance, the academy represents the traditional teachings of Shihan Darcio Lira alongside an affiliated dojo on Kings Hwy in Fredericksburg. Instruction is directed by James Coleman, head instructor for both the regional schools, who teaches alongside black belt instructors Joe Fay, Dave Morrow, Steve Casazza, and Brad Zerivitz. Co-founder Stefan Templeton brings additional expertise as a fifth-degree black belt and former Muay Thai champion, reinforcing classical grappling fundamentals. The curriculum preserves traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu methods, teaching break falling, takedowns, and technical ground fighting for self-defense. The school conducts structured programs for adults and youth practitioners, offering prospective members an introductory free trial class.
