Gabe Hernandez Jiu-Jitsu - LBK

BASE Brazilian Jiu Jitsu operates at 5064 50th St., Suite A, in Lubbock, Texas. The academy provides martial arts instruction for children, teenagers, and adult practitioners. Training emphasizes grappling techniques, self-defense, and physical fitness in a structured setting. Instruction is led by Owner and Professor Gabe Hernandez, an IBJJF registered and certified 3rd Degree Black Belt. Gabe began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2001 under Professor Bruno Bastos and earned his black belt in 2014. The teaching roster also includes Assistant BJJ Instructor Greg Hernandez, an IBJJF registered and certified 1st Degree Black Belt who started working with Bruno Bastos in 2012. Youth programs follow the IBJJF Graduation System for belt promotions, with age divisions including Little Furies, Warriors, and Gladiators. Adult classes offer training in both Gi and No-Gi formats across beginner, all-levels, and advanced sessions. Weekly training includes morning sessions, evening practices, and Saturday open mat time.
