NOLA BJJ operates at 4521 Magazine St in New Orleans, Louisiana. The academy provides instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, and Judo for children, youth students, and adults throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area. Program offerings include kids BJJ, adult BJJ, kickboxing, Judo, and women Jiu-Jitsu. The gym is owned and led by head instructors Matthias Meister and Marshall Baker. Meister has practiced Jiu-Jitsu since the mid-1990s and is an IBJJF Masters World Champion and Pan American BJJ champion. Baker is a BJJ black belt under Meister with more than 11 years of coaching experience. The coaching roster also features head No-Gi instructor Jon Butts, who earned his black belt in 2020. Training covers gi and no-gi grappling techniques, takedowns, positional control, submissions, and striking combinations. Classes cater to both recreational hobbyists and active tournament competitors. Prospective students can register online through the academy website to sign up for a free trial class.
