SHC BJJ Nova

SHC BJJ Nova operates in Virginia as an official academy of the SHC BJJ organization. Founded by fourth-degree black belt Samuel Hertzog Canquerino, the school opened on October 30th to establish the international team's presence in the United States. The academy provides martial arts training grounded in core values of discipline, friendship, and personal growth on and off the mat. The instructional curriculum encompasses Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals, advanced techniques, and competitive training. Classes cover guard work, positional escapes, reversals, and submission defense. Training sessions accommodate students seeking fitness, general self-defense capabilities, and structured skill advancement through the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu belt system. Professor Canquerino actively represents the academy in competition, including winning a super fight against David Adams at the PBJJF Grand Slam Virginia and competing at the 2024 IBJJF Virginia International Open. The coaching roster also features instructors such as Roberto Reis, Cristian Polnov, Cristiano Cabral, and Richard Arden Maye.
