Testudo BJJ Judo

Testudo BJJ Judo operates from 2731 Mt Vernon Ave Lower Level in Alexandria, Virginia. The academy functions as a grappling-focused martial arts school where Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and wrestling unite in a unified training environment. Instruction is directed by coach Ervin, an international competitor who holds black belts in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo after training in Japan and at Lloyd Irvin’s academy. The instructional staff also includes brown belt instructor Terry, a former schoolteacher who brings over 12 years of grappling practice to class preparation. Class offerings are structured for beginners and advanced practitioners across adult and youth divisions. Children's classes are divided by age and maturity, including specialized youth training for ages 7 to 9, developing body conditioning, spatial awareness, and grappling fundamentals.
