Alexandre da Rocha Santos
Alexandre Rocha is the co-owner and head instructor of Rocha Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and a first-degree black belt. Originally from Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil, he started in Muay Thai and, after two years, was encouraged by his brother Henrique, now also a black belt, to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has 15 years of Muay Thai and 13 years of Jiu Jitsu experience and progressed from white belt to black belt under black belt instructors Júnior Soares and Marcelo Conceição. He moved to North Little Rock to open his own gym and raise his family, choosing the city because it reminded him of his hometown. Rocha Brazilian Jiu Jitsu launched in December 2023 with Alexandre teaching private lessons in the home of co-owner Matt McAlister before growing into a dedicated facility.
