Alexandre Costa is the head instructor of Gracie Barra Boston, which was founded more than a decade ago. A five-time world champion with four decades of martial arts experience, he began training in Brazil at age six, using jiu-jitsu to overcome health challenges, before moving to the United States to teach the art. Beyond his own competition career, Professor Alexandre focuses on using martial arts to change students' lives. His coaching has guided athletes and high-profile figures, including Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla, and he leads a certified team of instructors serving the Boston community through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense.
