Austin Baker is the head instructor of SOL BJJ, an independent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school in Phoenix, Arizona. He has been training and competing since 2015 and received his black belt from Flavio Almeida on January 9, 2021. His competition results include the 2020 IBJJF Pan American Championship, the 2024 ADCC Phoenix absolute title and the 2023 and 2024 Arizona State Championships (AZBJJL), and he was the highest-ranked black belt competitor in Arizona for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Baker runs the academy together with owner Paul, who has trained under him for several years, and leads an instructor team that takes a student-centered approach to teaching.
