Professor Brandon Hern is an instructor at High Ground Jiu Jitsu in Murphy, Texas, and one of the coaches of its competition team. He received his black belt from Professor Rafael "Formiga" Barbosa of Double Five Jiu Jitsu and is a four-time IBJJF Masters World Champion. Before Jiu-Jitsu, Hern wrestled at the Division I level for Oregon State University and served ten years in the US Army as an infantryman and officer. He enjoys working with highly motivated children and adults who are willing to commit full effort during training, and says skill level matters far less to him than that willingness to show up and work.
