Carlos Gustavo Archila

Carlos Archila is the owner and head instructor of Lake County Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which he opened in 2013 with his wife Patty. He began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2005 and is a second-degree black belt under Leo Vieira. He discovered a passion for teaching early, leading both adult and kids' classes while still a blue belt. Starting with no students and no business experience, he learned to run a school through trial and error and, over the following decade, built an academy that has introduced hundreds of people in the GLMV area to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The school's adult curriculum is designed and approved by him. Archila is also an Army Reserve veteran who joined at age 17. Patty, who began training in 2011, holds her black belt under him and serves as the school's operations manager and assistant instructor.
