Daniel Pinheiro is the owner and head instructor of Team Shark, Daniel Pinheiro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the Castle Hills area of San Antonio, Texas, where he leads every class. The academy lists him as a sixth-degree BJJ black belt with more than 30 years in the sport and a four-time world champion in gi and no-gi. Pinheiro began training jiu-jitsu at age 11 in his hometown of Manaus, in the Brazilian state of Amazonas, and found his calling in teaching and competition. Along with his titles he has competed professionally in mixed martial arts. Team Shark is an IBJJF-registered academy offering kids, adult and private classes, and Pinheiro names loyalty, honor, respect and love as the core beliefs that guide both his career and the gym.
