David Adiv

Professor David Adiv is a sixth-degree black belt who leads Gracie New Jersey Academy in Lebanon, New Jersey, teaching Gracie Jiu-Jitsu through a direct lineage from Hélio Gracie to Royler Gracie. Born and raised in Israel, he first excelled in Judo as a student and competitor. After moving to the United States in the early 1980s he met and trained with Rickson and Royler Gracie, becoming a dedicated student of Royler. Adiv was part of Royler Gracie's training team and is featured alongside Royler in two of his books. As a competitor he won gold and the most technical fighter award at the first Rickson Gracie International Tournament and has placed at the Pan-Ams and World Championships. He spearheaded the Royler Gracie-David Adiv Jiu-Jitsu Association in the United States and teaches defensive tactics seminars to law enforcement and military units.
