David Bart Ylagan Lazaro
David Lazaro is a 2nd degree black belt and a professor at Gracie Barra Blacktown City, which he founded in 2018 together with Professor Nelson. He is a Gracie Barra ICP 2026 certified instructor and holds First Aid and Working with Children certifications. Outside the academy, Lazaro is a registered nurse, and he describes nursing and martial arts as complementary: one taught him calm under pressure, empathy and attention to detail, the other resilience and discipline. His martial arts background began in childhood with Taekwondo, followed by boxing and kickboxing, before Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu became his primary focus. He teaches alongside Sheryll Lazaro, a 1st degree black belt, and the school offers Gracie Barra kids, fundamentals and advanced programs in Western Sydney.
