Edgard Dutra is the owner and head instructor of Brazilian Top Team Melbourne, which he opened in 2005 as the first BTT affiliate in Florida. He holds a fifth-degree black belt under Austregesilo Reis and Cassio Werneck, and his coaching covers advanced grappling, submissions, and strategic preparation for competition. He also leads the academy's Little Ninjas program for children aged three to five and is known for adapting techniques to practitioners at every level. Drawn to BTT's philosophy as a black belt, he set out to extend the team's legacy beyond Brazil, and under his leadership the academy has built partnerships with local institutions, offering training and exchanges with police, military, and other organizations.
