Fabio Paganotti Luz
Fabio Luz is the professor who leads Gracie Stockholm, the school behind the Stockholm Competition Team. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, he started training in 1998 in his home city together with his cousins, a group of six boys who trained together and talked about jiu-jitsu constantly; three of them went on to become black belts, and Luz traces his ambition to make a living from jiu-jitsu back to that time. He was promoted to black belt in 2015 by his professor Leonardo Tapias, known as "Nado", whom he describes as loved and respected throughout the jiu-jitsu world. Before settling in Sweden, Luz lived in the United Kingdom, where he taught at the Gracie Barra Europe headquarters. A visit to Stockholm as a tourist convinced him to open a school there, as he felt jiu-jitsu fits well with the Swedish lifestyle.
