Franco Vacirca leads Team Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Zürich, which describes itself as the first BJJ-Gracie school in Europe, established in 1995, and he holds a seventh degree coral belt. He developed the GRACIE CONCEPTS Gracie Jiu-Jitsu curriculum, a 54-class programme that runs from fundamentals to advanced level and is based on the teachings of Pedro Hemetério, a red belt under Hélio Gracie. The programme covers self-defence, no-gi grappling, weapon defence and children's classes, with a separate curriculum for police and military. His teaching method adapts Grandmaster Hélio Gracie's curriculum, a system originally passed on only in private lessons, so that students can learn it in a group regardless of their physical attributes or fitness.
