Gabriel Pearlman
Gabriel Pearlman is a Tim Burrill black belt who runs Shield BJJ, Austin's first Tim Burrill Jiu Jitsu affiliate. His instructor, Tim Burrill, trained under Carlos Machado in Dallas and is one of the first Carlos Machado black belts, and Pearlman has also trained with Carlos Machado. Classes emphasize mat time, with plenty of opportunity to test theory against resistance and refine techniques, along with two-way conversations that workshop ideas out loud in a group.
