Gerardo Mulas is the founder and director of 5 Elements Studio Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness in Dallas, Texas. Born in Madrid, Spain, he received his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in 2018 from coral belt Carlos Machado after training with teachers from both the Gracie and Fadda lineages. As a black belt he won gold in the no-gi master division at the 2019 IBJJF Dallas Open, his first no-gi competition at that rank, and silver in the gi division of the same event. Mulas has also trained Muay Thai for several years, including extended stays in Thailand, and has studied yoga since 2000, with time spent in India. He is a nutritionist as well, and his classes draw on jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Ginastica Natural, MMA, yoga, mobility and calisthenics. He has been teaching for more than 25 years.
