Gino Silanoe is the head instructor and owner of Silanoe Martial Arts in San Gabriel, California, which he opened in 2017 to teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Dutch-style Muay Thai to kids and adults. Born and raised in the Netherlands, he began martial arts at age eight after being bullied at school and started instructing at 14; he now has more than 25 years in the arts. He earned a Master of Laws in International Law before relocating to California. Silanoe holds an IBJJF-certified 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, and a 2nd degree black belt in Japanese self-defense jiu-jitsu. He is a Dutch national ADCC champion and the 1999 ITF Taekwondo European champion, and holds an IOC-certified teaching license through the Dutch Olympic Committee.
