James Quan is the owner of Maven Jiu-jitsu Academy in The Woodlands and the professor who leads its instruction. He holds a black belt in jiu-jitsu from the BJJ Revolution Team and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of San Diego. Quan established the academy in Spring, Texas in March 2015, and it specializes in teaching Brazilian Jiu-jitsu to both adults and children, with fundamental and advanced adult classes as well as classes for kids aged 7 to 16. As a martial arts instructor with extensive experience training kids, Quan places particular emphasis on the confidence, discipline, character, focus and respect that students develop alongside their technical skills.
