Professor Jeremy Arel is the owner and head instructor of Great Grappling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Fort Mill, South Carolina. He showed an interest in martial arts from a young age, heavily influenced by his uncle Robert Arel, a Black Belt Hall of Fame inductee, and began informal training early on. As head of the academy, Arel leads its advanced children's class and adult classes and has promoted several of Great Grappling's instructors to black belt, including Shane on October 1, 2020, Evan Goyette on October 27, 2020, Fred on April 28, 2021, and Johnny Lea on May 21, 2022. Jake Boehmann also holds his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Arel.
