Detailed Description
Mestre João Roque is the founder of JRoque Artes Marciais, whose two units in Brasília, in Asa Sul and Águas Claras, teach jiu-jitsu, judo and karate under his standard of instruction. With more than four decades in jiu-jitsu, he holds a 7th degree red belt recognised by the CBJJ/IBJJF. Roque is a world champion and one of the first Brazilians to compete on the international MMA stage, with appearances at UFC 26, Shooto and DEEP. After his fighting career he turned to teaching and has promoted more than 150 black belts, with students now instructing around the world. He is recognised for his contribution to developing athletes and spreading jiu-jitsu in Brazil and abroad.
