Jorge Britto is the head instructor and founder of Etobicoke BJJ and holds a fifth-degree black belt under Saulo Ribeiro, in a lineage that runs from Helio Gracie through Royler Gracie. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he began Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a teenager and holds a university degree in physical education, which shapes a teaching approach built on safety, proper movement and long-term development. He moved to Canada in 2008 and began teaching in Toronto; in 2016 he co-founded the Jiu-Jitsu For Life Team, an association that now includes more than 30 affiliated academies across Canada, Brazil, the USA and Europe.
