Jorge Vasquez founded Vasquez Jiu-Jitsu in Grand Prairie, Texas, with his brother Diego in 2020 and serves as its owner and head instructor. He started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in July 2012, at 18, under Professor Danny Alvarez in Arlington, Texas, and stayed with Alvarez from white belt all the way to black belt, which he received on July 11, 2020, at age 26. He now holds the rank of first-degree black belt. The brothers had spent more than a decade training, competing and coaching before opening the academy, and both are on the mats coaching every week, working with kids as well as adults. Vasquez's coaching combines technical detail with personal development, and he has not taken any significant break from training since he began.
