Justin Aujla-Fieldt is an owner and instructor at A-F Academy. He began training martial arts in 2009 at the age of 15, after a friend suggested Jiu-Jitsu as a way to learn self-defence and lose weight, and describes being hooked from his first class despite being tapped out repeatedly. He began teaching in 2012 and has worked as a full-time instructor ever since. He competed first in local tournaments and later at international events, including the IBJJF World Championships and IBJJF Pan-American Championships, and went on to fight five amateur MMA bouts before deciding that his real passion lay in coaching rather than turning professional. Students quoted on the academy's site describe a background spanning BJJ, Muay Thai and MMA, and note that he teaches both regular classes and private lessons.
