Kyle Atkinson is the owner and head instructor of Lighthouse Jiu Jitsu in Prattville, which he opened in 2025. A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, he is an Air Force veteran with 20 years of service; during his military career he was selected for the Air Force Wrestling Team and represented the Air Force Special Warfare Jiu-Jitsu Competition Team. Atkinson has competed professionally in both mixed martial arts and grappling and has won major titles at IBJJF events, NAGA and the Hawaii Triple Crown. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Health Sciences, is a certified personal trainer, and has more than 15 years of experience coaching youth sports. At Lighthouse he leads the adult classes and oversees program development.
