Lloyd Irvin leads Team Lloyd Irvin, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai and mixed martial arts program with locations in Prince George's County, Maryland and across Northern Virginia. The academy describes him as Maryland's first home-grown Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and an inductee of the Grappling Hall of Fame, and says he has dedicated his life to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. His schools follow a set curriculum for jiu-jitsu, Thai boxing and MMA, and the instructors who teach it complete a ten-week instructor training course with Irvin twice a year. The program also runs kids classes and an after-school program that transports children from local Maryland schools to train.
