Luigi Mondelli is the founder and head coach of American Top Team Connecticut in Danbury, which he opened in 2003 and runs as a family-operated school with co-owner Silvia Mondelli. The academy describes him as the only fifth-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in the Danbury area; he also holds a black belt in RMA self-defense and works as a combatives and MMA coach. As a competitor Mondelli is a five-time Pan American Masters champion and a three-time World Masters champion. He has taught kids and adults in Connecticut for 17 years, from pee-wee students to professional MMA fighters and BJJ competitors, and teaches all of the academy's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes himself.
