Luis Eduardo Gonçalves Fraga

Eduardo "Selvagem" Fraga leads Ralph Gracie Berkeley, which opened in 2005 and has grown into the second-largest academy in the Ralph Gracie organization behind the San Francisco headquarters. A 5th degree black belt who also holds a brown belt in judo, he began jiu-jitsu at six, received his black belt at 22, and has trained and competed for over thirty years while teaching adults and children for two decades. He trained and taught in São Paulo under Ryan Gracie, Ralph's brother, and fought vale tudo from 1995 to 1997 with a 7-3 professional record. Fraga's competitive record includes seven São Paulo state titles between 1992 and 2003 and ten Pan American placings as a black belt, among them first place in 2005. He moved to the United States with his family in 2008 and joined the Ralph Gracie team; his teaching emphasizes basic technique and hard training.
