Professor Marcos Nevel is the founder and head instructor of Gracie Castle Hill, which he established in 2007 after emigrating from the original Gracie academy in Rio de Janeiro. A direct student of the Gracie family of Brazil, he learned the art at their academy and was awarded his teaching qualifications directly from the founders of the style, and he serves as one of their representatives in Australasia. The academy's about page lists him as a 6th degree black belt. Nevel has built the Castle Hill academy in the Sydney Hills District around a friendly, family-oriented and technically focused culture, with adults, kids, women-only, foundation and private programs offered seven days a week.
