Mark Jones is the owner of Fairfax Jiu Jitsu Academy in Chantilly, Virginia, and the founder and head instructor of its Brazilian Jiu Jitsu programs for both kids and adults. A 4th degree black belt, he began training in 1999 and earned his black belt in 2007, the year the academy was founded; in 2008 he launched its kids program for ages 6 to 13. As a competitor he is a two-time Pan American gold medalist and won gold at the International Masters Championship in Rio de Janeiro. Outside the academy, Jones works with youth and families in Loudoun County through the public schools and courts, and he is a U.S. Army veteran who served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
