Detailed Description
Nick Ronan is one of the two head instructors at Vanguard Academy Jiu-Jitsu, alongside Jason Rau. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Matt Serra, promoted in 2020, and he trained extensively in John Danaher's "Blue Basement" alongside some of the best grapplers in the world. Both Ronan and Rau received their black belts directly from Serra, the former UFC welterweight champion. Ronan has since begun promoting black belts of his own: Dylan Benningfield and Manny Reinoso, the latter of whom has trained alongside Ronan at Serra's academy since he was 15, were both promoted to black belt under Rau and Ronan in 2025.
