Noa Kawika Moke

Noa Moke is the head professor at Legend Jiu Jitsu Academy, the Atos affiliate in Tacoma. Born and raised in Kauai, Hawaii, one of ten children, he started jiu jitsu in 2000 at age 13. His first instructor was Bruno Ewald, a black belt under Royler Gracie, at Longman Jiu Jitsu, where he trained for ten years through brown belt. In 2012 he received his black belt with the blessing of sixth-degree black belt Nelson Montero of Gracie Barra Kauai, and he now trains under Andre Galvao and the Atos association. Moke describes jiu jitsu as a refuge during a difficult adolescence that gave him discipline, motivation and self-confidence; he lives in sobriety and aims to pass the art on to others. Several of the academy's coaches earned their ranks under him.
