Pedro Buarque Bisaglia
Pedro Bisaglia is the creator of the Método Horizont, an anti-bullying program built around Jiu-Jitsu that is the basis of Horizont Jiu Jitsu in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro. A Social Communication graduate of PUC-RJ, he began working in children's education in 1999, teaching music at schools in Rio de Janeiro including the Escola Britânica, São Bento and Santo Agostinho. He discovered Jiu-Jitsu in 2012, and it became the main tool of his method, later combined with psychoanalysis; from those two perspectives he wrote the book "Nem de Cabeça Baixa, Nem de Nariz em Pé", on the psychological benefits of Jiu-Jitsu, whose title is also the program's motto. In 2022, following a wave of news about attacks in Brazilian schools, Bisaglia created the Método Horizont to combat bullying and applied it at a public school in Rio, the Marília de Dirceu in Ipanema, which serves mostly young people from nearby communities.
