Professor Rafael Lovato Jr. leads Lovato Jiu-Jitsu in Oklahoma City and Edmond, Oklahoma. The academy is a family business started in 1993 by Rafael Lovato and his father, both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts, and in 2009 Rafael took over the school as his own, carrying on the family legacy and a lifelong dream. Over the course of his martial arts career he has won major titles in gi and no-gi Jiu-Jitsu, grappling and mixed martial arts. As a black belt and head of the academy, Lovato Jr. is described as teaching in a clear, concise style tailored to each student, from beginners to advanced practitioners. The Lovato association he leads now spans about 40 schools worldwide, and the academy states that it has promoted more BJJ black belts than any other in Oklahoma.
