Professor Romulo Barral is the founder of Gracie Barra Northridge, a fifth-degree black belt and a member of the BJJ Hall of Fame. One of the most decorated competitors in the sport's history, he is a 10-time world champion, with five of those titles won at black belt, as well as an ADCC champion, World No-Gi champion, two-time Pan champion, European champion and two-time Brazilian champion. Barral leads the Northridge school alongside a team that includes Jaeson Bianchi, a second-degree black belt under him who heads the kids program. Known for sharp technique and a passion for teaching, Barral teaches the academy's adult program himself and continues to develop the next generation of Jiu-Jitsu athletes.
