Sean Joseph Lynch

Sean Lynch is the head of St. Pete Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in St. Petersburg, Florida, and a 4th degree black belt under Eduardo "Veio" de Lima, a 6th degree black belt and one of the pioneers of Gracie Barra. Lynch had trained in other martial arts before meeting de Lima on his arrival in the United States in 1999 and became one of his early students. In 2006, while still a purple belt, he was asked to help start a jiu-jitsu program to spread the art in St. Petersburg; that program grew into an independent academy in 2013. Lynch received his black belt in December 2009 and his 4th degree in December 2023, and he is a certified instructor. An avid traveler, he once spent 18 months circling the globe, training in Brazil, New Zealand, and Thailand. He has promoted his own black belts, including Jerry Outlaw in November 2024.
