Stephen Roderick Heaven

Professor Stephen Heaven is the founder and head instructor of Heaven Jiu Jitsu in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a two-time world champion black belt under Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu, and the academy describes his championship-level knowledge as the cornerstone of its instruction for practitioners of every level. As owner of the academy, Heaven has built a programme that runs from kids' classes and an after-school programme with transportation to adult training and a tactical programme, and he teaches the fundamentals to children himself as a world champion instructor. Beyond the mats, the academy under his leadership engages in outreach programmes, charity events and partnerships intended to build a stronger, more connected Kingston through Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
