Thomas Pless is the owner and lead instructor of AON Jiu Jitsu in Richmond, Texas, and a fourth-degree IBJJF black belt with 33 years of training and 24 years of teaching behind him. He began martial arts at fifteen in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with Taekwondo and Hapkido, later adding Tang Soo Do, Muay Thai and Filipino martial arts, and first encountered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the early 1990s. After the first UFC he served four years in the U.S. Navy, then taught kickboxing and Muay Thai in Santa Fe. Pless joined the Santa Fe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy under Alberto Crane, went 4-0 in MMA and won the IBJJF Pans without conceding a point. In 2007 he became Crane's first black belt and took over the Santa Fe academy as head instructor. Over the last eight years his students have won close to 25 IBJJF World and Masters World titles.
