Tor-Inge Gloppen is the head instructor and founder of Drøbak BJJ. He holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has around 15 years of training in the gi, with international competition experience at the lower belts; he has also trained and fought in MMA. Gloppen began a coaching education with the Norwegian Martial Arts Federation about 20 years ago, where he discovered a passion for teaching, and later completed a master's degree in sport science at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. After moving to Drøbak he saw the need for a broader martial arts offering in the town and started the club with the aim of giving young people and other interested locals a place to train, having experienced the physical and mental benefits of BJJ himself. He teaches the adult classes and also coaches the club's youngest children's group together with Christer Tunes.
