Wesley James Burriesci

Wesley Burriesci is the owner and head instructor of San Diego Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in San Marcos. A lifelong grappler, he began teaching martial arts at 13 and has spent more than a decade coaching children and adults in wrestling, judo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He holds an IBJJF 1st degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a USA Judo 2nd degree black belt, and was an Academic All-American wrestler. Burriesci graduated from Cal State San Marcos with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development, and the academy points to that background as the basis for how he teaches younger students. He first came to SDBJJ as a student and staff member willing to take on whatever the academy needed, and years later became the owner of the school he calls home.
