Michel Porfirio Pereira, known as "Buiu," is a Brazilian native and a 6th degree IBJJF black belt. He is the owner and head instructor of both Carlson Gracie Miami and Ghost Squad Castle Rock, the academies behind the Ghost Squad Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team. Buiu is a second-generation black belt under Francisco "Toco" Albuquerque and Rodrigo Medeiros, whose lineage runs from Grand Master Carlson Gracie. His program follows a classic martial arts system that pairs technique with positive philosophy and the principles of Bushido, the code of the warrior, with the aim of shaping character and lifestyle as well as physical ability. The lessons taught on the mats are meant to carry beyond combat into personal development.
